Tourists, locals, and ski enthusiasts everywhere are abuzz about the planned base-to-base Squaw Alpine gondola that will have the two ski resort areas connected at last! An agreement has been reached between Squaw Valley Ski Holdings, LLC, parent company of Squaw Valley / Alpine Meadows, and Troy Caldwell who is the owner of White Wolf, the property between the two resorts.
Instead of driving individual cars or taking shuttle buses from one mountain to the other, visitors will be able to step into a gondola car and enjoy the breathtaking natural beauty on a quiet ride from one mountain to the other.
What’s next? Permitting and environmental studies on how to erect the gondola with the least impact on both the environment and the beautiful views of the mountains.
Since the initial press release in April of 2015, plans are moving ahead, slowly and carefully to create the gondola connection with both KSL and Troy Caldwell committed to the project.
