Single family home Fractional Ownerships were first introduced in Northstar in the mid 1980s (long before the new Village).  This is where the concept first took root in our market.  It was started by a developer who built a small number of homes, and then offered 1/7th shares  (7 weeks use per year) in those homes.  Owners of some of the original condominiums then adopted the concept.  With the development of the Village at Northstar™ the expansion of the residential neighborhoods and the opening of the mid-mountain Ritz-Carlton Destination Club in the Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe, luxury Fractional Ownerships were introduced in the last decade.  There are now a wide variety of choices available from shares in small older low priced Fractional Ownerships up to shares in large luxurious Fractional single family homes.
